Festival Director Adam Gertsacov
Deadline: September 2008
Bright Night Providence, Rhode Island's largest New Year's Eve Celebration,
seeks artists to help them ring in the New Year.
Bright Night Providence is an artist-run arts oriented New Year's Eve Celebration that started up in 2003 when First Night Providence announced that it could not continue. Founded by local artists who vowed not to leave the evening dark, but bright instead, the festival features some of Rhode Island's best musicians, actors, singers, dancers, storytellers, acrobats, magicians, and clowns. Now in its fourth year, Bright Night has managed three years of festivals without losing money.
The 2008 festival featured over 50 groups performing (over 150 performers) on 23 stages, two fireworks displays, a special edition of WaterFire, and over 20,000 people enjoyed the events.
If you are interested in performing at this year's Bright Night, don't miss out on this paid performance opportunity, see proposal details at http://www.brightnight.org/perform.html
