Suppose you were very lazy and didn't want to look up dance information? Well one of the best things about the internet is that you can have all kinds of information emailed to yourself. Here is a brief compendium of local social dance email lists.

To subscribe (unless otherwise noted), send an email to the address with Subscribe in the subject line, and request that you be put on the list in the body of your email.

Don't get too carried away. Only subscribe to stuff you will use.
Reading and sorting through email can be more time consuming than going to a website.

Oped/Dance World is a non-profit organization which offers a milonga (argentine dance) in Cambridge Massachusetts every first and fourth Sunday in the month. They have an email list for Argentine tango dance and performance in New England.

Dance News is a Rhode Island-based list run by James Baldassari which features mostly ballroom dance information, but also includes swing and latin dances. He also includess a section on clubs and restaurants. Dance News started out rather slap dash, but has become a the best email list for all kinds of dances in this area.

FOBD sends out email with Rhode Island ballroom dance information including classes and dances usually with alot of detail (such as complete address,price,time etc) that alot of the other lists miss.

Nelia Lawton is the founder and artistic director of the Ballroom and Jazz dance company - PB&J. Her emails come out several times a month and list classes PB&J is teaching, Rhode Island dances and other dance information.

Jane Dumont (aka Jitterbug Jane) runs a list for swing dance in the Hartford Connecticut vicinity. She covers into Massachusetts and Rhode Island, but most posts are for Hartford, Wethersfield, and Enfield. The information is accurate and complete.

Best Rhode Island email list for East Coast Swing and Lindy. Timely complete information about dances and clubs as well as the Swingin 88's own events (mostly dances).
