Step dance classes for children mostly start in the Fall and run through the school year, but the Damhsa Irish Dance Studio and the Jennifer Prete School of Dance offer summer classes in Step Dance. Adult classes (which are few and far between) are usually of shorter duration.

The Damhsa Irish Dance Studio is located minutes off the highway on Warwick Avenue. The studio entrance, as well as parking, is at the back of the building. Traditional Irish dance lessons for ages 5 and up are being offered Tuesday through Saturday at the studio. Classes begin in September and run through June. Adult Ceili lessons are also being offered.

The Kelly School of Irish Dance is a non competitive, performance based Irish dance school committed to teaching the traditional dances of Ireland, in a both fun and positive learning environment. Established in 2006, The Kelly School currently has locations in Coventry and Cranston Rhode Island. Dance lessons focus on traditional Irish Dance technique, with a contemporary and innovative flare.

Classes are loads of FUN, and are offered for children, teens, and adults - beginners through advanced level. New students are always welcome. It is never too late to start! It is our hope that dancers enjoy every minute of their time here with our school!

Under the direction of Maura Clifford Nevin, T.C.R.G., the Nevin Academy of Irish Dance has trained dancers from throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut for more than 30 years.

Our dancers compete locally, nationally and in the All World Championships. Our solo dancers and teams have won regional and national championships. In addition to competition, our dancers perform at many events throughout the year, including at the Massachusetts State House, Newport Irish Festival, First Night Providence and many Irish concerts and shows. The Nevin Academy trains dancers of all ages from beginner through championship levels. We foster a supportive environment that stresses teamwork, determination, dedication and a positive attitude.
