Formed in 1999, PB&J (originally called The New Providence Theatrical Ballroom and Jazz Project) encompasses many dance styles primarily
ballroom, latin, and jazz, and premiered at SummerBall at the Providence Fleet
Center on August 5, 2000. PB&J brings Ballroom dancing into
the performing arts in Providence and throughout the state.
The company gives professional ballroom dancers a place on the stage and amateur dancers more opportunities to perform.
They are available for concerts and various functions during their tour season of April through July and again September through
early December.
PB&J offers dance lessons for beginners in ballroom and for more advanced students in ballroom, theatrical, and jazz.

PB&J is available for performances during their tour season of April through July. For anyone who has not yet had the pleasure
of seeing this company, they are an extremely accomplished and very physical ballroom and jazz performance group.
Each year for the past three years, they have drawn thousands of people to their outdoor SummerBall performance.
Fred Gliottone of Swing Newport has called PB&J "Rhode Island's most requested dance company".

With an emphasis on bringing Cape Verdean Culture to Rhode Island, this group specializes in two forms of island dancing:

Rhode Island's oldest Portuguese folk dance troupe was founded in May of 1981 and performs traditional
dances of continental Portugal, Azores, and Madeira. The group is formed of 36 children 4 years and older, there are 4 musicians and 4 singers. This group represents the Nossa Senhora de Fatima Church of Cumberland, RI.
Forty dancers, singers and musicians perform in colorful native costume.
The group will sing and dance for any occasion upon your request.

Rhode Island's Ballet Theatre is a classical ballet company training talented young dancers for the stage.
The company helps promising young dancers reach their full potential through a pre-professional training program
consisting of weekly company class, regular Master Classes, professional evaluation & feedback,
learning experiences with leading ballet companies, and ongoing performance opportunities.
With no paid professionals, RIBT requires dancers to continue studying at their respective ballet schools in
addition to training with the company. The aim is to strengthen the dance community through openness and collaboration.
RIBT performs at private functions as well as at yearly concerts.

Founded in 1958, The Rhode Island College Dance Company is the oldest modern dance company in
the state, and is widely recognized as an innovative modern dance ensemble.
Their programs provide their students with a highly professional dance training and performance opportunity,
and provide the RI community with modern dance events. The company also provides educational programs
to school children in the area.
