A troupe of forty young adults and childen from the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Pawtucket Rhode Island
perform the traditional Greek Folk dances and wear original costumes from Greece. They perform at the church's annual August Greek Festival.
A smaller group travels and performs at other festivals and events.
Greek Pride was established in 1989 by Mrs. Pauline Vastis and Mrs. Maria Lyssikatos as a way to bring the children
of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church together through their love of Greek dance and music.
The troupe grew, with an average of 40 children, teens and adults participating each year, performing at the Church's annual festival
each August. Currently under the direction of Andrea Vastis, along with co-directors Nancy Georgitsis & George Microulis, and dance
and costume consultant Pauline Vastis, the troupe performs a wide variety of modern and traditional Greek dances.
The Greek Pride Dancers will perform at the Annual Grecian Festival in late August of every year.

A small modern dance company with all choreography by Paula Hunter
who often also does solo performance pieces. Lecture demonstrations and full performances by the company.
Choreography is highly physical and theatrical.

The Island Moving Company presents original works by company members and
guest choreographers in styles ranging from classical ballet to modern and jazz.
Its dancers, led by Miki Ohlsen, present master classes, lecture/demonstrations
and full-length concerts for children and adults. Repertoire includes original
works based on stories and fairy tales as well as shorter works to jazz,
contemporary and classical composers.
