ABSOLUTE BEGINNER
No previous ballet, tap or jazz required. New students to ballet may find it helpful to take a couple private classes to get started. Some teachers will let you into Intermediate level classes - Don't do it!
BEGINNER
Six months to 2 years of adult ballet or several years of ballet within the last ten years
If you are on the lower end of the minimum, you should take the class from the start of it's session. Some of the Intermediate classes will accept students with as little as 6 months of experience.
INTERMEDIATE
At least two years of adult ballet or several years of ballet within the last five years, and permission of the teacher. Take a look at the Beginner section where many open classes are listed. These classes work with the level of the students.
ADVANCED
At least three years of recent ballet training and permission of the instructor. Check the Intermediate section, many open classes are intermediate to advanced.
