Somewhere in the world on any given day, an audience is hearing Georg Frideric Handel's Messiah, perhaps the most universally loved composition for chorus and orchestra ever written. Andrew Clark leads the Providence Singers and the Rhode Island Philharmonic in this great oratorio. This year marks the 265th anniversary of the work's world premiere, given in Dublin.

Maestro Larry Rachleff leads the Rhode Island Philharmonic and The Providence Singers in a performance of Stravinsky's choral masterpiece, commissioned by the Boston Symphony Orchestra for its 50th anniversary season. Stravinsky sets three psalms of David, drawing his texts from the Latin Vulgate. Also on the program: Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4 with soprano Susan Lorette Dunn.
