What is JourneyDance?
Founder and President of Create Your Life, Tara Steeves is a certified JourneyDance (tm) instructor. JourneyDance is a playful and intuitive method of using movement to discover and celebrate our inner strengths. It is a uniquely powerful fusion of music, movement, ritual, and celebration.
Through an enriching, joyous, movement-based journey, we release fears and limiting beliefs in favor of sincere empowerment and a clear vision towards creating our best life. All that, AND it's great exercise requiring no fancy equipment or prior experience!
We are all dancers, emotion in motion. We cleanse our bodies and minds with sweat, breath, and laughter. We discover the anatomy of the soul. We feel our power and aliveness. We learn to love ourselves. We find balance and blessings. We become bright, shining, radiant.
Impulsed by music, using elements of theater, visualization, vocalization, guided sequences, and improvisational movement, we awaken our imaginations. We embark on a journey to fully express ourselves as soul. At the journey's end we return home, embodied and whole. This is the JourneyDance.

Edgewood
Cranston, RI 02905
Information: 401-781-3068
Instructor: Stacy Cristo, LMHC
Authentic Movement is a profoundly simple form in which a mover moves with eyes closed in the presence of a witness. Movement may begin as an impulse, sensation, gesture, image or memory and develops following the inherent wisdom of the body. Like meditation, this form of movement is a contemplative practice that allows for quiet listening to the mind, body and spirit and provides a forum to express non-verbally, with sound and gesture. In the practice of Authentic Movement you will learn the power and the presence of the inner witness, our guide to finding peace and personal power.

Whether you want to come to grips with your mid-life crisis or get started on a one woman show or both, here's the perfect class for you.
In this engaging and exciting series for women, recollect your stories as you explore the many roles you have played. In the liberating context of theater, we will explore each woman's many roles played throughout the first half of life. Inspired by women's gatherings in the red tent, sweat lodge and quilting circle where women reveal their truths, The One Woman Show becomes a contemporary cultural experience to ritualize mid life. Using the expressive arts - movement, drawing, creative writing and improvisation, participants will artfully and playfully create their personal story and prepare to bring select roles onto their stage during these eight weeks of evening workshop rehearsals.

GYROKINESIS

This methodology uses dance, yoga and tai-chi and breath training to systematically and gently work the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating exercises. Fluidity is the key. Postures are not held for long periods of time. Instead, postures are smoothly and harmoniously connected through the use of breath, making exercises appear and feel more like a dance than traditional yoga.
