6th annual cliff walk and dance celebration
A great outdoor activity for the entire family with door prizes,
raffles, entertainment and refreshments
Participate in a two mile walk along Newport's scenic Cliff Walk and through the Salve Regina campus. Participants are welcome to raise money through a sponsorship program, donate funds themselves or just come for the glorious family friendly experience of Newport's fabled cliff walk followed by entertainment and refreshments. Proceeds to benefit The Andrea Rizzo Dance Therapy Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and their public school outreach program, which brings dance therapy to RI public school children with special needs.
Performances before and after the walk by a variety of RI Dance Troupes and featuring nationally recognized hip hop company, Off the Curb. Door prizes will be awarded and don't forget to buy your raffle tickets. The winner will be taking home a kayak!

You can come for the festivities, healthy exercise, great company, fresh air, and beautiful scenery. You can also take part in the sponsored walkathon program.

Raise Money for the Rizzo Foundation and Compete for Your Favorite Charity
Groups are invited to join the Team Program and compete for $500.00 for their favorite charity.
Teams of 10 or more will receive a banner to carry along the walk. Those raising $30 or more in pledges will get a T-shirt. Click here for more information
Dance Therapy Seminar
Find out more about dance movmement therapy - a little known career option for dancers and people passionate about dance at Collaborating With a Mission: Dance and Dance/Movement Therapy - a seminar about dance therapy, which will be held prior to the cliff walk. Dance teachers, Senior dance students, dance movement therapists and others are encouraged to attend . World Renowned Dance/Movement Psychotherapist and author Suzi Tortora along with the New England Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association President, Cathy Lebeaux, and Christina Devereaux, who serves on the American Dance Therapy Association's Board of Directors will be headlining the event. Andrea Rizzo Dance Therapy Foundation
The Andrea Rizzo Foundation founded and funds the dance therapy program at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, one of the top cancer hospitals in the country. In addition, the Foundation provides dance movement therapy to schools and hospitals throughout Rhode Island and Connecticut.
In addition to increasing employment opportunities for dance movement therapists, the Foundation, in conjunction with Dance Alliance of RI, the American Dance Therapy Association, and the New England Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association National Dance, runs workshops for dance students, educators, dance therapists and allied health workers to learn more about Dance Movement Therapy.
