Spaulding Gray interviewed by Charlie Rose - September 25, 1997
From Google Video |

Best known for his highly personal, funny and dispairing monologues, Barrington born, Spaulding Gray was also an actor, screenwriter and playwright. In 2004, his acutely tuned sensitivity and grasp of reality resulted in his death when he jumped from the Staten Island ferry.
In 1997, PBS' Charlie Rose and Spaulding discussed what it takes to become an artist and Spaulding made some very perceptive, nuanced points (starts 33:30). The first half of the video (through 33:21) is an interview with director Oliver Stone. It has nothing to do with Spaulding, but for people interested in the arts, it's worth watching.
