Steven
Steven Adcock began his early dance career as a ballet and jazz performer working with a number of professional companies.
Later, he trained in the competitive style ballroom and latin dances.
After early retirement, Steven wrote Partner Workout, which describes manual resistance exercises that enhance dance sport fitness
and partner sensitivity. The book garnered world-wide acclaim and Steven found himself in much demand as a dance sport conditioning coach
and dance sport bodywork practitioner. Among his clients were principles from all the major ballet companies and world champions
in every ballroom discipline.
He has worked in the film and music industry as a dance and movement coach with stars like Al Pacino, Ringo Star, Bill Macy,
Phylicia Rashad, Leonard Bernstein, Bill Murray, Gwen Verdon, Rita Rudner, Mia Farrow and many more.
Steven himself has appeared on numerous TV shows, lectured throughout the U.S. and has been a national spokesperson.
Steven resurrected a second dance career 15 years ago when he fell in love with the complexity, passion and power of Argentine Tango.
Cheryl
Cheryl is a graduate of MIT. Adding graceful elegance and steamy
sensuality to her intellectual prowess, Cheryl has trained in the ballroom dance arts for 12 years. She has competed in both
Standard Ballroom and American Rhythm styles as well as Salsa and Hustle. Cheryl also is a certified conditioning specialist and
dance sport practitioner.
Cheryl and Steven met in San Francisco 5 years ago where they began to brew their alchemic mixture of ardor and corporeal elegance.
Influenced strongly by Miriam and Hugo, Nora Dinzelbacher, and Osvaldo and Lorena, they have also studied with with Nito and Elba,
Fernanda and Guillermo, Carlos Rivarola and Oscar Mandagaran. Steven and Cheryl's combined artistic and academic studies of the
human body as it relates to dance and movement create an extraordinary teaching environment and bequiling performance style.
Together
Steven and Cheryl tour regularly throughout the country. Events they have appeared at include teaching at the prestigious
Dance Vision Dance Camp, performing at Salsa Summer Splash in Palm Springs, at the 'Kos' club in NYC and many other venues.
They have choreographed for the MTV show 'Made' and have appeared as featured dancers in Marc Anthony's video Valio la Pena.
Currently, they are the USA Argentine Tango and Salsa representatives to the 2007 IDO World Championships.
