We generally have between 10 and 20 people at the lessons. Folks are learning social dancing including swing, fox trot, waltz, argentine tango and Latin dances. It's a great chance to meet people, get some excercise, and improve your dancing skills. These classes are a great combination with the Towers summer Thursday night Music and Dancing series.

6 week Fall 2009 Session
Wednesdays starting September 16, 2009
5:30-6:30PM Beginner Tango & Rumba
6:30-7:30PM Beginner Swing & Waltz
7:30-8:30PM Beginner Cha Cha & Foxtrot
8:30-9:30PM Technique Class (focuses more on technique rather than step patterns, and it's free! For all levels!)
9:30-10:30PM Practice time, extra help, and team practice (free, all levels)
Each class costs $10.00 which covers you for six weeks (except competition team practice which is free). For example, if you take the 6-7pm class and the 7-8pm class, you pay $20 and then you're covered for the next six weeks.
No experience or partner is required for the beginner classes and competition team and the classes are open to students, faculty, and general public, in short - everyone!
No special dress is required for any of the classes, but open-toed shoes might not the best idea since we all tend to step on each other a little at first.
Also, if you can't make it the first week, you're more than welcome to join the second week of classes. We'll be doing plenty of review and you'll be able to jump in and catch up with no problems (this also applies to any other week you're unable to attend one of our classes).
No special dress is required for any of the classes, but open-toed shoes might not the best idea since we all tend to step on each other at first.
The classes are crowded but the price is right. All are welcome - no affiliation to URI is required.
