General Information
Most ballroom and swing dance classes run for at least a month. Always arrive at least 5 minutes before a class. You will be able to learn more and be less disruptive to other students if you arrive on time. In addition, beginner students should always start with the first class in a series. If you arrive after the class has started, you will find it much tougher.
Workshops are usually one time intensives often for higher level students, but you can find beginner workshops. Workshops are sometimes listed on this page but also check the Ballroom & Swing News Page.
Just remember - Rome wasn't built in a day. If you want to dance well, be prepared to put in some time and effort.
Street shoes damage dance floors. Bring clean-soled shoes or invest in dance shoes. Do not dance in shoes that you wear in from the street. For your partner - do not wear work boots or open toe shoes. For you - find a comfortable pair of shoes to wear, they should not be floppy or too tight.
